NY NY

Start spreading the news.....

So on Friday ANthony and I took our mothers to NYC for the day.
Mum came down Thursday night and slept over. Friday morning we left our house around 7am and drove to the New Haven train station. We took the train into Grand Central Station and arrive around 10ish. We walked a tad and then took a cab over to Canal Street. We were not even out of the cab yet and little chineese ladies were coming up to us saying " you want prada, coach, gucci???" It was a tad overwhelming.
ALl along Canal St are shops selling pocketbooks, sunglasses, jewlery, perfume etc. And all the shops have "secret" back rooms the size of Jared's bedroom on Foundry St and they cram everyone in to look at the "secret" pocketbooks. You also have the option of going into a van filled with pocketbooks, it was about 99 degrees in there and very claustrophobic! JoAnn, Mum, and I all got purses and sunglasses. Shopping made us hungry so we went over to Little Italy for lunch. We ate at a very good restaraunt and sat next to the table where the Sopranos sit when they visit!!! After lunch we got a canolli and then went to the cheese store. Anthony came home with grated cheese and Provolone and a loaf of bread........most are already gone....

It was a fun day, very warm!! The mothers behaved and mum managed to hail 2 cabs. No one got locked in any bathrooms or got lost.

We told them if they are good maybe we will take them again in the fall.

Oh yes, it was a fun filled day, and I behaved the bestest... (as usual)!!

Now after going , I will know the next time to write down what I want as it was a bit overwhelming for me....

Maybe next time we can take the bus down if we want to and get a lot of us to go. It would be very nice in the fall to go again, and maybe see more of the sites.....

I did have a great fun filled day....

Thank you for taking us, It was alot of fun and a bit overwhelming. The worst was going into the vans to see what they had, especially when they lock you in there. Both mothers were well behaved - did you have any doubt!! Loved the restaurant and little Italy the most!! Thank you Rosie
