14 Weeks

Since many of you have not seen Kristin in a while, we decided we would post a picture of her at 14 weeks. It is very exciting (for me) to finally see her stomach starting to show more. Up to this point, her stomach has been low, but it is starting to rise.

Kristin has been getting a lot of pain on and off lately, but all expected due to her insides stretching and moving around. The "lemon" is roughly 3-4 inches now and is moving around inside though Kristin cannot feel it. Week 14 also marks the point when the baby start peeing, which is kind of weird. I learned last night that the amniotic fluid regenerates itself every 3-4 hours, which neither Kristin of I knew. The body is amazing!!! Our next doctor appointment is October 22nd. We will be scheduling our next ultrasound at this appointment to determine the sex. Check out the poll on the right to cast your vote on what you think it will be. Winners get a free home cooked meal on me :-)

Kristin and I were off yesterday, which she mentioned in her previous blog. We headed over to Babies'R'Us to look at the crib set and get an idea of how long it takes from time of order for them to come in. While there, we ended up buying two baby outfits for the lemon. Kristin and I have not yet bought anything for the baby, so it was exciting, though, it would be even more exciting to know what we are having. Below are the two things we picked up. I picked out the outfit on the left, which has little bears on it and Kristin picked out the duck looking outfit.

Babies'R'Us was having a special where if you bough 1piece of furniture you got 10% off, 2 pieces 15 % off and 3 pieces 20% off. We asked if this sale happens often, however, they said it was a once a year type sale. As a result, we ended up ordering the nursery furniture yesterday. We got a convertible crib, we turns into a day bed, toddler bed then full size bed as the baby grows. We also got a bureau that also serves as a changing station and an armour. We also got the mattress (for free..DOH). The goal is that the last two weeks of December, when I am off from work, I am going to work on the nursery, painting it and getting the furniture set up.

For dinner last night, I made homemade pasta and meatballs, which was really good and filling! While making the pasta proved to me a lot of work as it was my first time, it was fun. I promised Jared that when he comes down, I will make him favorite brie pasta dish along with homemade pasta. Sunday night, I spent almost 3 hours breading, frying and putting together eggplant parm for Kristin, which too was very good. We had SO much leftover. The said reality for me is that all I have done since Kristin has gotten pregnant is eat as I find her cravings and hunger supportive f my love for food.

I close with a picture from Ms. Monroe, who decided to pose as she did when we asked her, her thoughts about the baby....

Keep sending the pictures so I can keep up with your progress. I am still very excited for you and Anthony! Hi Anthony!

Kristin, you look great! I love your little belly! I can't wait until your next ultrasound so we can know what the little 'lemon' is.

Anthony - can I help you make the pasta? I want to get the pasta attachment for my mixer. I made ravioli once.

Yes, 'Ant' A is Aunt Amanda. I signed my name 'ant' because that's how I pronounce it and everyone makes fun of me. But I will be 'Ant' A to my little niece or nephew.
