It's a Boy!

After months of waiting to find out what we are having, we found out today that it is a boy. Well, we are 80% positive it's a boy as the ultrasound tech told us today. I do not know how she is only 80%. I mean, there's a BIG difference between a vah-j-j and a penis. I can see how it's hard to tell if it's a girl but a boy! So, for all you who thought it was a girl, no free meal for you. Ortiz, aka, Papa Goldsmith, Uncle Jared and I were the only ones who voted for boy!

Go figure that out of all times we have been to the doctor's office, today had to be the busiest and they were 45 minutes behind. So, needless to say we were all getting tense waiting to be called.

Grammie and Nannie both came into the tiny little room where Kris and I have gotten several ultrasounds before. Today's ultrasound was longer then the ones previously because they had to do a lot of measurements, i.e. measure the head, heart, stomach, check position of kidneys and bladder etc. All very amazing! We were all amazed at how much the baby was moving around, kicking and waving its arms everywhere. We even got to see the babies mouth move. The last of the pictures was of out little man's member. Rather than the ultrasound tech saying "it's a boy," she said "PENIS." Funny indeed but a word that made me proud as I was hoping for a boy. Below are some pictures of the ultrasounds, which are kind of tough to interpret. First one is of him looking right at you with his two hands behind his ears. Second one is of him with his back pointing up and his head to the left and feet to the right. If you look, you can see his spine along the top of his back. The bottom picture is of his face, which looks creepy because all you can see is the bones plates, no skin.

In a couple of weeks, Kristin and I will be going for a 3D and 4D ultrasound, which is suppose to be amazing. The 3D is like looking a picture...you can see all the facial features, hair, etc. This will also solidify the fact we are having a boy! The 4D is like watching a video...you can see the baby in 3D moving around. We will be getting a CD of 25 color photos and a DVD of the baby moving around. We will definitely post those pictures after our appointment.

After our appointment today we went to Babies'R'Us. Grammie bought her future grandson a red sox baseball cap and a Pat's cap. She also got him Red Sox Jersey and a Pat's onsie. Lastly, she got him his Halloween costume for next year, which he will be a pirate. Nannie bought some Halloween shirts, orange pants and a sweatsuit that looks like a skeleton. She also got us this speaker you hold up to your stomach so the baby can hear music, which also serves as a microphone so you can listen to the babies heart.

Tomorrow we are headed up to see our nephew Callum. We are very excited to see him dressed up for Halloween and spend time with him this weekend. We are also very excited to tell him in person he is going to be getting a boy cousin. We cannot wait to see the two of them together!

OK so I was wrong but I was totally convinced. Anthony now you don't have to put the shirt on a girl and make her a Tom Boy. Congrats guys.
