Deck You

Well hello there!

Another busy day indeed! I got up at 5:45am and headed outside to start staining the deck. I started early for a couple of reasons (1) It was about 45 degrees and I knew the bees which seem to have taken over our yard would not be out. (2) TaTa asked that I be done no later than 3:30pm because she wanted to get on the road knowing we would hit traffic in Providence, RI. Overall, the staining went pretty well. The park that absolutely stunk was having to paint those friggen posts. That along too me 3-4 hours. After I got the posts done, I put a few coats of stain on the tops of the railings and began painting the floor. I was happy I got a colored stain because it covered up some of the imperfections in the wood.

After I applied the first coat of stain on the floor, I went to the front of the house and stained the front steps, which were a mess. After seeing the results of how the front steps came out, my next job is going to be to stain the front porch.

In total, I put a few coats of stain on the surfaces exposed to the sun all day. I have to tell ya, it looks pretty good! MUCH MUCH better compared to what it looked like before, especially after sanding it all down. Below are some before and after pictures.
